Sitting too much?

If you spend a lot of time sitting all day, your mid back may be rounded and hunched over.

I see this in a lot of my clients and it can cause low back pain or shoulder pain or neck pain. I've uploaded a video on YouTube that has an exercise with a foam roller that can help improve your posture and improve your mid-back mobility.

If you have a foam roller, place it on the floor and lie down with the foam roller on your mid-back. Keep your knees and hips bent and your feet flat. With your hands behind your head and your elbows forward, extend your mid-back as shown in the video.

It's important to maintain tension in the upper back tissue by keeping your elbows forward. Otherwise, when you perform the movement you will not be able to mobilize the joints that are under the muscles. Also, keep your abdominal muscles on so that you do not hyperextend your lower back.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
