Do a physical therapy check-up

You bring your car in for preventative maintenance regularly. You go to the dentist to get a cleaning regularly. You see a physician for an annual physical. Why not look at physical therapy the same way?

If you use your body (if you’re human and you’re reading this, then I’m talking to you), then you need to maintain it. Movement is how we experience and interact with our world. Whether that movement is getting up out of bed or doing an Olympic lift with a barbell.

Physical Therapy is not just for rehabilitation of injuries or reducing pain. Physical Therapy is for improving movement and therefore, improving your quality of life. It is a preventative, proactive approach to medicine instead of the traditional reactive approach that is so common with today’s healthcare system.

Screening for movement dysfunction and treating it before it becomes painful or restricts your ability to do things you love is how physical therapy works. A regular physical therapy check up screening can do that. Physical therapists are doctors that specialize in movement and we can diagnose an issue before it ever becomes an issue.

Change what you think physical therapy is.

You don’t need a referral from a physician to go to a physical therapist.

You don’t need to be in pain to see a physical therapist.

Physical therapy is so much more than just exercise and ice packs.

Your body is a complex machine that you have to maintain for the rest of your life. If you want to maintain your independence, your ability to move pain free, your ability to do the things you love to do, then you owe it to yourself to get a physical therapy assessment.

Catch the problems before they get too big.
